After leaving Tokyo, I hopped on a bus to Fujinomiya to check out some cool views of Mount Fuji. Heads up: a visit to this part of Japan during winter is not for the faint-hearted! I was in for a bitterly cold visit. Hence, I would advise visiting during the non-winter months. Yet, it is all still worth it. Most of these photos were taken when my phone decided to throw a fit, so the photo credits go to Justine, my close friend and travel buddy. They are truly stunning!

Special thanks to the owners of Guesthouse Tokiwa for being absolute angels and driving us here to watch the sunrise! Also, it is a place I would recommend you stay at if you visit Fujinomiya. We had a lovely stay there!
Shiraito Falls
Lake Motosu

I was also not ready for views this breathtaking!

Next to the lake, there is a wonderful cafe which looks out to this glorious view. Their large soba noodle bowls are a lovely escape from the cold!
More glimpses of Mt Fuji
As it is beyond risky to get anywhere close to walking up the mountain during winter, here are some more snaps of it from roads.

That’s sheer beauty right there. Next Japan post: Kyoto. For the last one on Tokyo, click here.
