Patricia Lalor unveils new single ‘Alone’
Gorey singer-songwriter Patricia Lalor has released her new single ‘Alone’, forming part of her upcoming EP Do It Again. ‘Alone’ follows on from the release of sophomore EP Sleep Talk, which she released to positive praise in April.
Patricia’s new offering is an ode to social awkwardness. “‘Alone’ is a song I wrote about being tongue-tied around certain people and how my brain just goes blank and it’s suuuuperr awkward… but at least a song came out of it!”, explained Patricia.
With its warm guitar riffs and haunting vocals, ‘Alone’ is a lo-fi, indie pop delight. Moreover, with its lingering synths, the instrumentation of the track is enticing, escapist and ethereal. The dreamy allure of ‘Alone’ would especially delight fans of Billie Eilish, The Big Moon and SOAK. And, at just 14 years old, Patricia’s glistening vocal harmonies and exquisite melodies present a musical maturity of an artist beyond her years.
At the age of 11, Patricia Lalor started her musical career by posting covers on YouTube. She has gathered over 140k subscribers and even attracted the attention of Hozier, after she covered his song ‘Cherry Wine’. That video alone has garnered over a million views. Thus, with her beautiful discography and promising online following, I am excited to see where Patricia heads from here!
Do It Again will be out on July 24th.
