Oscar Merry releases massive new rock track ‘Cower’
Rocker Oscar Merry is thumping through the scene with his new release ‘Cower’. In the new track, Oscar delves into a new space with a unique sound echoing out with harrowing quality.
‘Cower’ is from the songwriter’s newest EP Unfurl. It follows a similar vibe to the other tracks, but this one sounds even more refined. First of all, Oscar opens with a substantial guitar section. Being a guitar player myself, I could not help but clutch to his guitar melodies with dear life. They combine distortion but also a melodic effect which makes ‘Cower’ a delightful listen.
The track swells quickly, and the chorus is impactful. Oscar’s vocals are enthralling. He sings with his gallantry firmly on his sleeve and he opens up about his adventures. Also, he cleverly combines his influences but yet keeps true to himself. For me, I can hear similarities to Manchester Orchestra – whom Oscar publicly cited as being one of his greatest heroines. Nevertheless, this track is no replica, and it gives the rock world something just that little bit unconventional.
Vocally, I am unable to find an exact match elsewhere, thereby proving the singer’s ability to be authentic. However, I would enjoy more backing to make the mix, and possibly an additional singer to add a little more flame. Nevertheless, it is a top rock track. Also, the Bristolian demonstrates that anything is possible given the idea that everything you hear on this track is his own work.
