Animal Breakdown unveil ‘Night Garden’
London powerpop trio Animal Breakdown have released their new track ‘Night Garden’. The new single is a nostalgic track about emotional paradoxes and dangerous liaisons.
‘Night Garden’ was recorded with audio engineer Wynter Prior at Brighton’s AudioBeach Studios. It also follows on from their previous release ‘Parting Glass‘ / ‘Black Horse‘. In addition to exploring the topics of sex and dangeous liaisons, ‘Night Garden’ looks at the reckless paradox of feeling both invincible yet hopeless.
With the band’s proficiency in weaving the powerpop and new wave sound into their indie discography, the new single sounds warmly nostalgic yet fresh. With vocals reminient of Buzzcocks, the track soars with warm guitar riffs and strutting keys that fondly recall the hits of The Cure. Futhermore, the bassline is uplifting in its sheer spirit. The shattering drums are then elevated in the flying chorus. In sum, adding to a catalogue that we already admire for its captivating combination of catchy melodies and troubling lyrics, ‘Night Garden’ encompasses what makes us feel alive – whether its joy or darkeness.
