Girl Ray unveil new track “Show Me More”
Earlier this week, Girl Ray announced their second LP Girl and released the groovy “Show Me More”. This slick single is the product of their partnership with Ash Workman (Christine & The Queens, Metronomy), who encouraged the North London trio to experiment more with their electro pop influences.
Girl Way has described “Show Me More” as an ode to “crushing really hard but having to play the long game and wait it out because your boo is playing savage games. It’s your classic pop banger. Steamy dance floor. Drinks on me.” I couldn’t have described it better myself.
The guiding drums by Iris McConnell create that needed anticipation to complement the nerves that follow the narrative. For a track about infatuation, Poppy Hankin provides a dreamy gloss with her sweet vocals. Also, the lovely partnership between Poppy on guitar and Sophie Moss on bass gives this Girl Ray track its infectious disco and funk grooves.
Girl will be out on November 8th via Moshi Moshi. Crusoe Weston has directed the music video for “Show Me More”, which shows the band ride through London. Check it out below:
