The Murder Capital drop poignant new single “Don’t Cling to Life”
After topping the vinyl charts with their previous two singles, The Murder Capital have dropped “Don’t Cling to Life” – the third single from the punk rockers’ upcoming debut album, When I Have Fears.
Already a hit in their live shows, “Don’t Cling to Life” is a fast-paced track that energetically navigates around the spheres of life, death and grief. Specifically, the track explores the pain of grief and the wish to move on. As a result, despite the focus on death and loss, The Murder Capital’s new belter tries to turn these emotions into positive lessons and a chance for hope. According to the Irish quintet, “feeling grief and wanting to dance through it” is at the track’s essence. In addition, James McGovern’s emotive vocals and the echoing guitar riffs musically lift the subject matter to new levels. So in sum, the track is just as dark as it is unflinchingly energetic, introspective and anticipating. All in all, a great track by a great band.
When I Have Fears will be released on the 16th August via Human Season Records. In the meantime, The Murder Capital will be playing at numerous UK and European venues. Check out their UK dates below!
