Casey Lowry drops new single “Boyfriend”
“You’ve got a boyfriend, and he looks a little like you”
Rising indie pop artist Casey Lowry started off in a Chesterfield-based covers band before realizing he wanted to produce his own material. After writing his first song “Trampoline” when he was just 14, he released his debut EP Beach Blue in 2018. This year, Casey has added some sunshine to 2019 with a bunch of dreamy singles from his upcoming EP, including “You Told Me You Loved Me”. The most recent of these offerings is the infectious “Boyfriend”.
Casey Lowry wrote “Boyfriend” about an awkward but funny encounter with a girl and her boyfriend. Particularly, the fact that she looks like she could be related to her boyfriend. Casey then proceeds to wonder whether they are actually related and so the hilarity ensues. Musically, the upbeat guitar riffs, singalong chorus and fun, summer pop vibes gives the situation that charming humour.
His second EP is scheduled for release in September. Keep an eye out!
Casey Lowry is also heading out in a European month this autumn.
