Car Boot Sale unveil new track ‘Fortune Teller’
The London-based band Car Boot Sale bring a relaxed and psychedelic sound to their brand new single ‘Fortune Teller’. The indie duo, consisting of singer/guitarist Jim Terrill and drummer Ciaran Forth, had a great start to 2020 being featured in Huw Stephens’ BBC Radio 1 showcase at The Social. So, following on from that, this groovy and laid-back single can only make things better.
Mixed and mastered by Theo Verney (FUR, Fake Laugh, Beach Tape), ‘Fortune Teller’ was recorded above an east London pub on the hottest day of summer 2019. Terrill’s softly spoken vocals beautfully capture the track’s subject matter – the uncertainty of a new but burgeoning relationship.
When looking at the bigger picture, the newly-released single forms a beautiful part of Car Boot Sale’s growing catalogue of suneshine lounge pop, with its jangly jazzy tones and psychedelic ovetures that hook you from the start. With all the sunny winter weather we’ve been having lately, we can always do with a track this bright.
