Tally Spear celebrates the unique in ‘Oddball’
Here at FSWL, we love Tally Spear and the infectious, punk rock spirit she presents in her pop music. And with four punchy singles already in the back catalogue, her new release ‘Oddball‘ is another step up for the London-based artist.
The new single is the fourth release from Spear’s forthcoming EP Tally, produced by Martin Hollis (Adele, Mark Ronson) and Max Marlow (Kodaline, Declan McKenna). As a tribute to the unique, ‘Oddball’ is a bold pop track that is lifted with its theatrical guitar riffs. While the track explores the topic of being different and owning that, the instrumentation and pop riffs are warmly familiar. Upon listening, it is almost as if Tally Spear takes us through a whistle-stop tour of pop over the last 10 years – one catchy hook at a time.
The EP’s previous singles, ‘Already Gone’, ‘Can’t Find What I’m Looking For’ and ‘What Do I Want’, have already received warm praise from the likes of Radio X, Music Week and and Clash. I’m sure the music publications and radio stations will also hold up ‘Oddball’ and the new EP to the same regard!
Tally will be out on 14th August.
