Sea Girls release new indie bop ‘Violet’
On 20th August, indie rockers Sea Girls set the tone of their soaring success with another arena bop. ‘Violet’, their brightest and most fun track to date, was released ahead of the band’s set at Reading & Leeds Fest.
‘Violet’ is a an upbeat love song for the titular character. “If our other tracks are the shade, then Violet is definitely the light” revealed Sea Girls frontman Henry Camamile. “There is no tortured soul here, just a boy who avoided the inevitable for years, suddenly realises, and throws himself wholeheartedly to someone who’s made for him. Put your face in a sink of ice cold water and that’s how it makes me feel.”
In preparation for the band’s UK tour dates this October, the track has come at a perfect time with its catchy singalong lyrics and infectious spirit. The drums drive the track with the shimmering synths and bouncy guitar riffs which keep you dancing. Also, dare I say, ‘Violet’ possesses one of their catchiest choruses. It may even be their catchiest – and it will certainly be a hit live!
